Mayfield ex-Services – a.k.a. Mex Club – is bringing back the “all you can eat” buffet!
In March of this year we engaged the services of Teik Lim and his company to take over our restaurant, and they have been running Iron Plate successfully ever since. Teik’s company has been the food operator at several large clubs for over twenty years. These include such large clubs as Wyong Leagues and Beresfield Bowling Club.
After looking at the historical success of the previous Buffet and with Teik’s own successful restaurants and wealth of experience, we decided to examine the possibility of re-establishing the buffet model here at the club.
The Iron Plate restaurant and entire dining area will be closed for upgrades and renovations for a period of approximately six to eight weeks, then it will re-open as Galaxy Buffet.
Food will be available for the duration of the renovation from a food truck provider which is to be located in the outdoor courtyard at the front section of the club.
Some important things to note about this: ·
- The courtyard area will now be strictly no smoking for the duration of the food truck residency.
- Smokers may continue to use the al fresco gaming area and the outdoor patio area opposite the ATM foyer for smoking and vaping.
- Minors will not be able to access the courtyard area as it requires walking through the gaming floor but for families and for guests not wishing to go outside:
- Food will be able to be ordered directly from the food truck OR ordered and collected with a buzzer from the bar.
The bar in the auditorium will be open more often.
